Chris leads the management team, represents Full Fact externally and sets the overall direction of the organisation. After joining in October 2023, he led Full Fact through the 2024 UK general election and President Trump’s second election victory in the United States. He also sits on the Governance Body of the European Fact Checking Standards Network.
Previously Chris pioneered fact checking on mainstream BBC outlets through his development and leadership of BBC Reality Check. His work covered a tumultuous period in British politics after the Brexit referendum, as well as the Covid pandemic.
Earlier in his career, Chris spent more than two decades as a senior foreign correspondent, living and working for the BBC in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States.
