The video doesn’t come from the Ethiopian Airlines flight that crashed in March. It’s from a different plane.
A video, posted to Facebook, and shared almost 2,000 times, claims to show the last moments of the Ethiopian Airlines flight that crashed in March, killing all 157 people on board.
We haven’t been able to identify the flight in this video, but it definitely isn’t from the March plane crash.
Our fellow factcheckers Africa Check have looked into this, and they found that although the interior and crew uniforms are clearly that of Ethiopian Airlines, other clues show that it is not a video from the March disaster.
First of all, the video shows a plane with two aisles, as was pointed out to Africa Check when they asked their Twitter followers to help work out where the video was from. The one that crashed in March was a Boeing 737 Max 8, which has only one aisle.

Others pointed out that the flight took off in the morning and crashed after six minutes, but in the video it’s clearly dark outside.
